01/04/2017 Legislative mischief

It’s busy at the State Capitol. I checked the Conservation Federation of Missouri’s Legislative site but they haven’t posted about this year’s mischief yet. I scanned through the list of the House bills and found a few. They’re just getting started so several bills are repetitive. I’m sure they will be melded together in some fashion resembling sausage. The Senate website is more difficult to track so I am only reporting on the House bills and one joint resolution. Check out the very last one where the MDC’s sales tax is threatened. Here’s what I found:
2017 Missouri Legislation concerning conservation:

HB-46 Imposes civil penalties for poaching certain animals. Donna Lichtenegger

HB 181 Don Phillips Grants law enforcement officers, agents of the conservation commission, and the water patrol the authority to enforce certain laws, with restrictions

HB 206 Jeff Pogue Prohibits the collection of water, soil, or commodity samples by governmental entities without the written consent of the landowner

HB 250 Jered Taylor Imposes civil penalties for poaching certain animals

HB 278 Jay Houghton Allows all honorably discharged veterans to fish and hunt without a permit, with certain exceptions

HB 279 Jay Houghton Modifies provisions relating to captive cervids

HB 282 Sonya Anderson Imposes civil penalties for poaching certain animals

HB 283 Sonya Anderson Changes the laws regarding feral hogs

CCS SCS HCS HB 2006 Scott Fitzpatrick Appropriates money for the expenses, grants, refunds, and distributions of the Department of Agriculture, Department of Natural Resources, and Department of Conservation

HJR 9 Mike Moon Proposes a constitutional amendment to require that the conservation sales tax be renewed by voters every six years. 1/4/2017 Read First Time. No hearing scheduled.
