Our MTFA chapter participated in the Springfield Boat, Sport, and RV show this weekend, January 13-15, 2017, at the Ozarks Empire Fairgrounds. It seems that all of the Ozarks was anxious about the possibility of freezing rain. Attendance was low, but as the weather began to show promise more visitors came out to the event. I guess cabin fever had reached its limit. We had a table not far from the entrance where we tied flies, told lies, and visited with others afflicted with the need to fly fish. That’s what we do best! We gave away all of our membership applications and business cards. We sold raffle tickets for $100 worth of flies and a fishing cap, as well as for the fly rod set that the Branson Branch has as a fund raiser. Since this was our first effort, it was a success, and it left us with ideas for improvement and a commitment to be there again next year. Harry Morgan, President, MTFA-Springfield
