Body: red wool
Thorax: deer hair, spun and trimmed

Start thread
Tie in wool thread deep into hook bend; touching wraps back to about 1/3 of hook shank from hook eye; tie off and clip
Spin a pinch of deer hair onto the front of the hook; pull back and tie off (whip finish, half hitches) thread behind hook eye
Trim deer hair to create a pointed head with collar for the thorax
