Wispy – Mike Kidd’s fly. Mike said he started using this fly at Montauk and caught a lot of fish. The same results at Roaring River. He just started using this fly at Taneycomo, so we will see how it does there. It is a very simple fly to tie and the one he gave me was on size 14. He used a green Krystal Flash and I used Peacock (Didn’t have the green). If you do not have the Diamond Bread Caddis Green, any Diamond Braid Pearl can be colored using a Sharpie color of you choice. See the picture below.
Materials
- Hook: Tiemco TMC100BL or TMC101
- Hook Size: 12, 14, 16, 18
- Body: Thread Olive
- Ribbing: Krystal Flash (Green or Peacock) Pearl
- Thread: UNI-Thread 8/0 Olive
- Wings: Marabou Olive
- Head: Midge Diamond Braid Caddis Green

Fishing Instructions: Use sinking leader or sinking line and strip back.
