I really do not know what the fly is called said Mike.  I will call it the Red Head Rabbit.  The Red Head Rabbit was tied for me last night at the Branson MTFA meeting by Michael Marriott.  We were talking about our  a resent trips to Roaring River.  He told me about this fly.  He said that it worked for him all day.  Any way he fished the fly –  it caught fish.  I had him sit down to tie it for me.  Here it is.  Simple and easy to tie.

Materials

  • Hook: Tiemco TMC2499SP-BL or TMC2487
  • Hook Size: 14, 16, 18
  • Tail: White Micro Rabbit Strip ( or cut a strip 1/8″ x 3/8″ to 1/2″)
  • Body: Red Thread
  • Head: Red Thread
  • Thread: UNI-Thread 8/0 Red
