I started collecting old cast iron fly tying vises made by D. H. Thompson. I soon realized that another company, Herter’s also manufactured and sold cast iron vises that looked a lot like the Thompson vises. So as I collected, I tried to see and note the differences between the two companies. Very little information is available on the internet, so I thought I would share my findings.
